This pretty station was recently adopted by the Friends of Gobowen Station provides the link with the bustling market town of Oswestry.

The booking office is run by Severn Dee Travel by 4 volunteer directors on a not for profit basis to provide a service to the community. It has a waiting room and toilet facilities and also a café Severn Dee Travel Station Café serving hot and cold food and beverages.

Modern Oswestry is an important shopping and agricultural centre with a good selection of restaurants and cafe bars. A bus/rail link and through ticket is available to and from the station into the town.

 
About Gobowen Station

This station is in the centre of Gobowen and is the rail link for the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Trains leave here for Wrexham, Chester, Holyhead and for Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Cardiff with connections for London at Chester and Birmingham.

The booking office has a waiting room, a café plus information on trains running. CCTV and customer information screens are installed showing live train running. A P.A. system also operates.

There is a free car park operated by Shropshire Council adjacent to the station. There are also cycle facilities.

Independent travel agent Severn-Dee Travel operate from the booking office and are appointed agents specialising in domestic and group UK rail travel for schools and colleges  They can be contacted on 01691 681010 or at sra@btconnect.com

Bus connections to Oswestry are also available
