The study looks at the capacity constraints of the single track between Wrexham North and Saltney Junction and potential solutions, together with line speed enhancements and their impact as well as an analysis of the business case for building new or re-opening old stations on the line. Several solutions and business cases have been put forward for further investigation including the increasing of the current speed limit from 70mph to 90mph.
