As part of the successful Community Rail Day in 2006 the brownies and guides from Chirk painted a set of mural for the Chester Platform. This year the Friends of Chirk Station and the Partnership were please to install a similar set for the Shrewsbury Platform.
The scene depicts the three counties the line covers with Chirk at the centre. These provide a colourful background to the station waiting shelters.
The Brownies and Guides involved in the project were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by the Rail Officers Sheila Dee.
