The Chester-Shrewsbury Rail Partnership welcomed the a new group of station friends to the line.
Working with the Station Adopter, Gareth Thomas, volunteers and a group of students from the Derwen College plans were made to install planters on both platforms at this pretty station. The Partnership commissioned the Derwen College to design and build the planters and they were installed by the Arriva Trains Wales maintenance team at the end of March. Plants were donated by the college and planed up on a sunny by cold morning.
The group will now maintain the planters and further improvements will be discussed at a meeting in April. Much of the ongoing work will be funded by a small second hand bookstall that is run by the Partnership in the booking office. Donations of good quality modern novels are always welcome.
