As part of the national Community Rail week celebrations taking part all over the country, the Chester-Shrewsbury Rail Partnership organised a coffee morning at Gobowen Station Booking Office. All proceeds will fund the work of the Friends of Gobowen station who are volunteers and students form the Derwen College who regularly visit the station to tend the new planters recently installed on the platforms. The booking office was transformed into the ‘Olde Tea Shoppe’ and visitors and passengers alike were welcomed with home made cakes served by the Community Rail Officer and helped by Sally and Sue from the booking office who had also donated scrumptious cakes for the day.
The coffee morning ran from 7.30am -3pm on Friday 25th May and many passengers hoped it would continue every day!
