Early in September the Office of the Rail Regulator announce the granting of a licence to Wrexham Shropshire and Marylebone Railway to run trains from Wrexham direct to London Marylebone. This new direct service will call at Wrexham General, Ruabon, Chirk and Gobowen and Shrewsbury then on to London. The service of 5 trains each week day, 4 on a Saturday and 3 on a Sunday is expected to commence in the spring.
